Makena grew up on a small farm in rural iowa where she was surrounded by all sorts of animals. Between living on the farm and spending her teenage years living with her two boxers, Mercedes and Max, she quickly discovered her love for all animals, especially dogs. She’s been in this line of work since the beginning of 2020, and has been a proud member of the Dogwoods team since 2022. Makena is known for treating every dog she meets as if they were her own. Every day is always filled with something new and exciting, and she lives for it! She was eager to cross train across all departments, and is always trying to expand her horizons and learn something new! In her spare time, she enjoys watching dirt track racing, crocheting, reading, and snuggling with her pup.
